Happy New Year: Cheers to a New start

I am delighted to welcome you to a new year. I hope you had a rewarding holiday.

Thank you for your hard work and dedication this past year.

Your commitment to achieving the best possible results in the face of the unforeseen challenges experienced in the past year has been integral to our collective growth. For that, I say thank you.

To describe the year 2020 as difficult would be an understatement. This was true, one of the most challenging years of our lives, with the Covid19 pandemic crippling global economic activities, disrupting how we live and work, impacting our health and well-being and leading to the loss of lives.

We had our fair share of health and economic crises as a nation. We had to contend with social and political uncertainties, all of which made ours an even tougher environment to navigate.

The year 2021 was also slow, and despite the volatile operating environment characterized by political and economic uncertainties, we continued to grow as individuals and collectively as a race.

We are gradually transitioning from full on-site working arrangements to hybrid structures to ensure we carry out all our duties and responsibilities safely. Very soon (sooner than we may think), remote work will no longer be foreign but will be embraced with open arms.

In this new year, It is important to stay strong, do our best and thrive in all our endeavours. Whether you have a white-collar job and are required to do a 9-5 daily or are an entrepreneur, creating value in your little way, I urge us all to look to the new year with so much optimism.

For the stay-at-home mom and dads who give their all to protect the home front and may feel under-appreciated, I encourage you not to relent because the year has so much in store for every one of us.

Right now, it may look like all the challenges that dominated the previous year are still in full swing, but we must work harder, smarter and in more innovative ways than we have ever done to live up to our goals and commitments.

To thrive in these times, we must maintain a "premium on excellence" attitude at the heart of everything we do. All of the above will be challenging to achieve.

This will be our toughest year yet. However, I am confident that everyone reading this is uniquely talented and dedicated. With that in mind, we can accomplish anything if we set our minds to it.

Cheers to a fresh start. Happy New Year.
